Ziaire Williams

Ziaire Williams was born in September of 2001 in Lancaster, California. He is the son of Ziaire Williams and Marquita Fields-Williams. Williams spent the first three years of his high school career at Notre Dame High School where he averaged 13.6 points and 6.5 rebounds as a freshman. In his final season at Notre Dame, he averaged 27 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists and received USA Today All-USA California second-team honors. In 2019, Williams teamed up with fellow prominent high school players Brandon Boston, Bronny James and Zaire Wade by transferring to Sierra Canyon High School. He also won a gold medal with the United States at the 2019 FIBA Under-19 World Cup. Williams helped lead Sierra Canyon to the 2020 CIF-SS Open Division title by averaging 15 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists and was named the Los Angeles Times Player of the Year while also being selected to play in the McDonald's All-American Game, Jordan Brand Classic and Nike Hoop Summit. He then began playing collegiate basketball for Stanford and averaged 10.7 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.2 assists over 20 games with 14 starts in his freshman season. In March of 2021, Williams declared for the 2021 NBA Draft. The forward was selected by the New Orleans Pelicans with the 10th overall pick, the draft rights to which were traded to the Memphis Grizzlies.
