2025 Fantasy Outlook
Sims emerged as a high-energy backup big for the Bucks after being acquired mid-season from the Knicks, averaging 2.4 points, 4.9 rebounds and 0.8 assists in 15 minutes per game during his 14 outings with Milwaukee. His shooting was efficient inside the arc, with a 68.0 percent mark during that stint. Unfortunately, a torn ligament in his right thumb ended his regular season prematurely, though he returned to contribute in the playoffs with 4.0 rebounds per game in 11.6 minutes across five contests. With the Bucks re-signing him on a cost-controlled two-year deal (including a player option) this offseason, his role as a rotation big seems secure, especially with Brook Lopez no longer around. Myles Turner will be the starting center, and Bobby Portis figures to be the first big man off the bench, but the backup center minutes are there for the taking. Sims' value lies in his rim-rolling athleticism, defensive hustle, and rebounding, but if he's limited to minutes in the teens, he'll be hard-pressed to produce consistent fantasy appeal. The Knicks brought back Sims on a one-year, $2.1 million contract this offseason after exercising his team option. Originally slated as the third-string center, Sims could see increased playing time with Mitchell Robinson expected to be out until at least December. The Knicks made a blockbuster trade right before training camp, sending Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo to Minnesota in exchange for Karl-Anthony Towns, who'll be New York's starting center. Precious Achiuwa and Sims should compete for backup minutes until Robinson returns. Sims has been a fringe rotation player over his three-year NBA career. He started 11 games last season, posting averages of 4.3 points, 4.7 rebounds, and 0.8 blocks in 22.7 minutes a night during those contests. While not relevant in standard fantasy formats, those in deep leagues might want to monitor Sims, especially if Robinson remains out longer than expected.

Sims is a candidate to be more involved in the rotation with Giannis Antetokounmpo sidelined for at least a couple weeks with a calf strain.
ANALYSIS
Sims started the second half of Wednesday's win over the Pistons and ended up with 15 points, 14 rebounds and one assist over 30 minutes. Sims has been used sparingly for the most part this season with 12.7 minutes per game across 17 appearances, but he was the reason the Bucks were able to pick up their second win out of their last three games.
