The Eastern Conference Finals tip off Wednesday with the Milwaukee Bucks hosting the Atlanta Hawks This matchup also provides an opportunity to play Yahoo's single game contest.
In addition to selecting two flex players, there are three multiplier positions in this single-game format. A player slotted into the Megastar spot will earn double their fantasy points scored. The Superstar spot will earn 1.5X their fantasy points scored. Finally, the Star will earn 1.2X their fantasy points scored. With that in mind, let's discuss some players to consider.
MULTIPIERS
Giannis Antetokounmpo ($54): Giannis certainly caught plenty of grief in the Bucks' series against the Nets because of his inability to hit free throws late in games. However, he was still the centerpiece of their offense and dominated on the glass, which left him to score at least 47.8 Yahoo points in six of the seven games. He scored at least 53.8 Yahoo points in two of his three meetings against the Hawks during the regular season and should be a lock for one of the multiplier spots.
Trae Young ($42): From an efficiency stand point, Young wasn't great against the Sixers, shooting 39.2 percent from the field during the series. However, he averaged a whopping 22.6 shot attempts per game, which still enabled him to average 29.0 points. He also did an excellent job at creating scoring opportunities for his teammates, averaging 10.9 assists. While facing Jrue Holiday won't be an easy task, Young's high usage rate and ability to rack up assists in bunches still leaves him with a high floor.
Khris Middleton ($32): Middleton came up big in Game 7 against the Nets, logging 23 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and five steals. It helped that he played 52 minutes, which marked his fifth straight game with at least 41 minutes played. With plenty of minutes likely coming his way in Game 1 and his role as one of the top scoring options behind Giannis, Middleton is an appealing option for one of the multiplier spots.
FLEX PLAYS
Kevin Huerter ($17): The Hawks likely wouldn't be in this series had it not been for a stellar performance by Huerter in Game 7 against the Sixers. He stepped up to score 27 points on his way to 41.9 Yahoo points. With Bogdan Bogdanovic battling a knee injury, Huerter played at least 40 minutes in both of the last two games. He also topped 40 Yahoo points in Game 6, which is the game that Bogdanovic suffered his injury. Bogdanovic is considered to be a game-time decision for this contest, and even if he does play, he could be limited. That could mean an expanded role again for Huerter.
Lou Williams ($10): Williams had a strong finish to the Hawks' series against the Sixers, scoring at least 20.4 Yahoo points in two of the last three games. He's never one to shy away from jacking up shots, so he can still provide valuable contributions on the offense end, even with limited playing time. If Bogdanovic were to sit out, Williams could be worth a look in tournament play.
PLAYER TO AVOID
Brook Lopez ($20): With his ability to hit three-pointers and block shots, Lopez can go off on any given night. He did just that in Game 7 against the Nets, scoring 19 points and blocking four shots on his way to 45.1 Yahoo points. However, he's largely been a disappointment, scoring 25.5 Yahoo points or fewer in four of his last seven games. Since his salary doesn't come at much of a discount, it might be wise to keep him out of your entries.
