Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Myers entered the season with momentum after a strong rookie year, but an oblique strain in mid-March delayed his debut and altered his role. Activated in late April, he joined the Brewers' rotation but failed to regain his earlier effectiveness, spending much of the year shuttling between Milwaukee and Triple-A Nashville and working mostly in relief at the big-league level. Underlying indicators from his rookie season already pointed toward regression, as his 3.01 ERA outpaced what his skill set supported. That correction began to show, driven largely by a notable decline in strikeout rate. A favorable left on base rate helped prevent a larger spike in run prevention, keeping his ERA increase relatively modest, though it still finished well below his estimators, which climbed compared to the previous year. Heading into spring training, Myers didn't have a clear path to a rotation spot for the Brewers, and his immediate outlook doesn't change much after being traded to the Mets. His clearest path to a roster spot is as a reliever, though he should still make some starts for New York at some point in 2026. Read Past Outlooks
Rocked in short start Monday
Myers (0-2) took the loss Monday against the Reds, allowing seven runs on four hits and three walks while striking out one over 1.1 innings.
Analysis
Making his third start of the season, Myers was in trouble almost immediately. He surrendered three runs in the first inning, including a two-run homer by Eugenio Suarez, and things unraveled further in the second. After allowing three consecutive batters to reach, Myers walked JJ Bleday with the bases loaded to force home a run and was removed with one out and the bases still loaded. Reliever Jonathan Pintaro was unable to clean up the mess, allowing all three inherited runners to score as Cincinnati plated six runs in the inning. Myers has now allowed 17 runs over his last 12.2 major-league innings, ballooning his season numbers to a 5.71 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 27:10 K:BB across 34.2 innings.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Myers came out of nowhere in 2024 to stabilize Milwaukee's rotation after the organization traded away Corbin Burnes last winter. Myers inked a minor-league deal with the Brewers in November of 2022 and spent most of the following campaign with Double-A Biloxi, where he posted a 5.03 ERA and 1.27 WHIP in 27 outings. He made his MLB debut in April of last season and had a 5.40 ERA in his first seven appearances, but he pitched to a 2.43 ERA the rest of the year and finished 2024 with a 3.00 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 127:36 K:BB across 138 innings. Myers' results may have been bolstered a bit by Milwaukee's strong defense, as evidenced by a 3.97 xFIP and 4.19 xERA, so some regression in 2025 wouldn't be surprising. A 22.3 percent strikeout rate limits his fantasy upside, and the unproven track record furthers the risk. However, he's another success story for the Brewers pitching factory, and he could entrench his spot in the rotation in 2025.
