2026 Fantasy Outlook
Halvorsen's ratios were lackluster, but when he was healthy, the right-hander proved to be the most reliable option within a pen that ranked 29th in bullpen ERA (5.18). He led Colorado with 11 saves (38 percent team save share), but might have approached 20 if not for a season-ending elbow injury last August. Among relief pitchers who pitched a minimum of 30 innings in 2025, Halvorsen ranked third in average fastball velocity (100.0 mph) behind Mason Miller (101.2 mph) and Jhoan Duran (100.5 mph). Despite regularly hitting triple-digits on the radar gun, Halvorsen's 20.9 percent strikeout rate was below average, but his solid swinging strike percentage (13.3) suggests there is room for him to rebound in the K-department. Looking towards 2026, Halvorsen and Victor Vodnik figure to remain atop Colorado's hiearchy for saves. First, Halvorsen will need to prove he is past the elbow injury that cut his 2025 campaign short. Read Past Outlooks
Optioned to Triple-A
The Rockies optioned Halvorsen to Triple-A Albuquerque on Tuesday, Kevin Henry of The Denver Gazette reports.
Analysis
Halvorsen entered spring training as a candidate for high-leverage work but pitched his way into a stint in the minors by yielding 12 runs with an ugly 4:12 K:BB over five innings of work. The hard thrower will try to get back on track at Albuquerque and could still have an important role in the Colorado bullpen down the line.

2025 Fantasy Outlook
Halvorsen, a seventh-round draft pick by the Rockies in 2023, made his major-league debut last August after compiling a 4.47 ERA and 1.47 WHIP across 44.1 innings between Colorado's Double-A and Triple-A affiliates. The 6-foot-2 right-hander featured a four-pitch mix headlined by a 100 mph fastball that he tossed 37 percent of the time, but it was his splitter (28 percent usage) and slider (16 percent) that produced the most swing-and-miss. Halvorsen pitched well enough in his limited big-league sample (13:2 K:BB over 12.1 frames) to earn save chances over the final few weeks of the season, recording two in three opportunities. The 25-year-old's minor league track record suggest ratios and walks might be an issue, but Halvorsen's raw talent stands out among other relievers in Colorado's bullpen. He's worth gambling on as a closer-in-waiting type for 2025, but his save ceiling is capped due to the team he plays for.
