Elbow
March 23, 2026
The Nationals placed Schultz on the 15-day injured list Monday due to right elbow inflammation.
Analysis
Schultz didn't pitch in a Grapefruit League game after Feb. 28 due to his elbow injury, which is severe enough for him to open the season on the injured list. The earliest he can be activated from the IL is early April, but the Nationals have not indicated when the 28-year-old right-hander will embark on a rehab assignment.

With team in Tampa Bay
PToronto Blue Jays
May 24, 2025
Schultz is with the Blue Jays in Tampa Bay on Saturday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.
Analysis
A corresponding move has yet to be announced, but Schultz -- who has spent most of the season with Triple-A Buffalo -- could operate out of the Blue Jays' bullpen as soon as Saturday. He's appeared in two major-league games this season and has allowed three earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out 11 across 6.2 innings. Schultz struck out eight batters across 4.1 frames against the Mariners on April 20, which tied a major-league record for a pitcher making their MLB debut in a relief role, per Matheson.
