2026 Fantasy Outlook
Right elbow inflammation limited Lawrence to just 17.1 frames in 2025, but the right-hander was effective in those innings. The 31-year-old posted a win and six holds across 17 appearances with a respectable 0.51 ERA (3.06 SIERA), 0.96 WHIP and 23:8 K:BB. Among pitchers who tossed a minimum of 100 sweepers in 2025, Lawrence produced the 4th-best slugging percentage against (.114) and 8th-best batting average against (.086) for that pitch type. While the sample was small, he threw his sweeper at a 50.0 percent clip last year. If that trend continues, and Lawrence is able to put his elbow injury from 2025 behind him, he could resurface as a potential closer-in-waiting candidate. On the flip side, Lawrence's reliance on two pitches could work against him, especially since his mid-90's sinker hasn't been effective throughout his MLB career. Read Past Outlooks

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Lawrence's trend of throwing more sweepers continued in 2023, as it's his most successful offering. The 29-year-old held opposing hitters to a .149 batting average and .236 slugging percentage on his sweeper, while 63 of his 78 total strikeouts came on the pitch. In fact, it was the 2nd-best sweeper in the league according to Statcast Run Value (14). On the flip side, Lawrence's mid-90's sinker yielded plenty of contact (.333 BA), with many balls in play hit on the ground (48.5%). Still, Lawrence was reliable enough in the late innings to take over Colorado's closing duties in June. He maintained the role for a little over two months, racking up a career-high 11 saves that were 2nd-most on the team. A rough August (8.31 ERA, 3 BS) relegated Lawrence back to the 7th and 8th innings, but he's a good bet to see save chances again sometime in 2024 as one of the Rockies' best relief pitchers.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Could be dealt this winter
The Rockies are willing to listen to trade offers for Lawrence, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis
Lawrence's 6.49 ERA in 2024 was among the worst in baseball and his 45:33 K:BB over 59.2 frames wasn't pretty, either. However, the reliever's sweeper can be a nasty pitch and it's possible teams would be bullish on how he could fare away from Coors Field. Lawrence, who turns 30 later this month, is under team control through 2028.
