Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
At age 27, Chisholm put together the best season of his career, crushing a career-high 31 homers while also swiping 31 bags to win the Silver Slugger at second base. He was one of a record seven 30-30 players in 2025, earning his second All-Star selection. His year ended on a low note, as he managed just a .598 OPS in the postseason while also making a crucial error against the Blue Jays in the ALDS. A career strikeout rate of 27.6 percent makes Chisholm something of a batting-average liability, though he has mostly thrived since leaving Miami, posting an .816 OPS with the Yankees compared to a .749 OPS during his time with the Marlins. The category impact has reached a new level in recent years, and the power and speed make it rather easy to overlook his flaws, especially with a lefty hitter in Yankee Stadium. Beware some peaks and valleys as well as a prior injury history. Regardless, in his current setup, Chisholm has a case as the No. 1 fantasy option at the keystone entering 2026, and he brings bonus third-base eligibility to the table. Read Past Outlooks
Left out of starting nine
Chisholm is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals.
Analysis
Left-hander Noah Cameron is on the hill for the Royals, so Yankees manager Aaron Boone decided that Wednesday was a good opportunity to stock up on some extra right-handed bats and give the left-handed-hitting Chisholm a breather. Chisholm had started in each of the Yankees' last 12 games, slashing an impressive .400/.471/.667 over that stretch to bring his OPS up to .724 for the season.

Chisholm enjoyed the healthiest season of his career as he finally broke the 125 games played total in a season while splitting his time between Miami and New York. The games played was not the only career high as he also set a new high in every counting category as well as batting average and strikeout rate. The change in venues from the spacious Marlins Stadium to the coziness of Yankee Stadium did wonders for Chisholm, as he hit 11 of his 24 homers in the 46 games with the Yankees while also stealing 18 of the 40 bases. We have known for some time what Chisholm is capable of while on the field, but the time lost in 2021-2023 due to multiple injuries impacted his value. He now gets to play the final two seasons of his arbitration years in a much better stadium and lineup than what he experienced in Miami and the cost of acquisition this winter will rise accordingly. The decision fantasy managers must make: Is the juice worth the squeeze given how much time the talented player has missed over the past four seasons? The 3B and OF eligibility is a nice added bonus.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Yankees listen to trade inquiries
The Yankees "have listened" to trade inquiries involving Chisholm, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis
The Yankees trading Chisholm doesn't seem especially likely after he had a 30-30 regular season for them in 2025, but it's notable that teams asking about the second baseman's availability haven't been immediately turned away. Chisholm -- who will turn 28 in February -- is entering his walk year, and there have not been any known discussions between him and the Yankees regarding a long-term contract.
