Dylan Beavers

24-Year-Old OutfielderOF
Baltimore Orioles
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Beavers could credibly challenge for a 20/20 season if he played every day as a rookie in 2026, although as a young lefty hitter, it's possible a platoon caps his playing time. He slashed .304/.420/.515 with 18 home runs, 23 steals, a 16.3 percent walk rate and an 18.2 percent strikeout rate in 94 games as a 23-year-old at Triple-A and slashed .227/.375/.400 with four home runs, two steals, a 19 percent walk rate and a 26.3 percent strikeout rate in 35 games in the majors. His exit velocities and hard-hit rates don't stand out, but Beavers has an ideal batted-ball profile, logging significantly higher flyball rates than groundball rates at Triple-A and the majors. He is a patient hitter who rarely chases and also makes contact at a high clip, so Beavers' floor is pretty high, and he should get the most of his physical tools. The 6-foot-5, 206-pound outfielder has the speed for center field, but he is a better fit in left field, where he has a chance to be an above-average defender. There's a chance Beavers unlocks another level as a power hitter as he enters his mid-20s, but he doesn't need to in order to pay off his early draft cost for 2026. Read Past Outlooks

Beavers is not in the lineup for Thursday's opener against the Twins.
Analysis
Beavers managed to avoid the injured list after being sidelined for the past week with tightness in his right knee and quadriceps. However, the left-handed batter is not in the lineup Opening Day versus righty Joe Ryan, as Orioles manager Craig Albernaz is going with righty bat Tyler O'Neill. It's not a surprise, as Beavers could be a bit rusty and O'Neill also has a major-league record six-game Opening Day home run streak on the line. Beavers and O'Neill are expected to share right field for Baltimore this season rather than operate in a strict platoon.

Stat Review
How does Dylan Beavers compare to other hitters?
This section compares his stats with all batting seasons from the previous three seasons (minimum 400 plate appearances)*. The bar represents the player's percentile rank. For example, if the bar is halfway across, then the player falls into the 50th percentile for that stat and it would be considered average.

* Exit Velocity and Barrels/PA % are benchmarked against 2019 data (min 400 PA) and Hard Hit Rate is benchmarked against last season's data (min 400 PA). See here for more exit velocity/barrels stats plus an explanation of current limitations with that data set.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2024
2023
The Orioles' pipeline of excellent position player prospects seemingly has no end, and while he appears buried on the organizational depth chart, Beavers is a good enough prospect to still carry top-100 dynasty value. A plus runner who makes excellent swing decisions and can play all three outfield spots, Beavers is working on maximizing his above-average raw power in games. He slashed .336/.432/.536 with eight home runs, 14 steals and an 18.9 K% in his final 71 games, split evenly across High-A and Double-A, although his .157 ISO at Double-A was an underwhelming mark for an age-appropriate hitter at that level. Beavers could soon look like a top-50 prospect on paper whose actual dynasty value will be debatable based on how much he gets downgraded due to the crowded depth chart. However, as a lefty hitter, he should be productive in Oriole Park at Camden Yards, if he is able to stick in this organization.
Beavers, the Orioles' competitive-balance pick at No. 33 overall in last year's draft, is a potential power/speed outfielder from California who didn't turn 21 until August. The 6-foot-4 right fielder struggled in both opportunities with a wood bat (Cape Cod League and USA Baseball), but he rebounded with a .291/.427/.634 slash line, 17 home runs, seven steals, a 19.9 K% and an 18.8 BB% in 56 games as a junior. He had a brief 23-game run across complex ball, Single-A and High-A and demonstrated a very keen eye (18:16 K:BB). Given his size and bat path, Beavers should be able to hit for at least above-average power. Additionally, he is at least an above-average runner and was 17-for-23 on the base paths in 123 college games before going 6-for-7 on stolen-base attempts at Single-A. For fantasy purposes, there is a lot to like here. However, the Orioles' depth chart is getting crowded, given how well they've done recently in the draft, so the competition for playing time will be heated when Beavers is ready, likely in 2024.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Expected to draw trade interest
OFBaltimore Orioles
December 11, 2025
The Orioles expect teams to show interest in Beavers as part of trade discussions, Andy Kostka of The Baltimore Banner reports.
Analysis
The Orioles are likely to make a trade for rotation help, and Beavers could be part of a package. The 24-year-old outfielder took a step forward in 2025, slashing .304/.420/.515 in 94 games with Triple-A Norfolk and .227/.375/.400 across 35 contests with the Orioles. Beavers is under team control through 2031, so the Orioles surely aren't anxious to part with him in a trade, but he also doesn't necessarily have a starting job locked up with the big club for 2026.
