Rest-of-Season Projections
Will handle backup catching duties
Milias will begin the season on the Nationals' 26-man roster, Jessica Camerato and Paige Leckie of MLB.com report.
Analysis
The 28-year-old beat out Harry Ford and Riley Adams for the job of backing up Keibert Ruiz, giving the Nats a rare combo -- two switch-hitting catchers. Milias has seen brief action in the majors in each of the last three seasons but has never seen more than 62 plate appearances in a campaign, amassing a more-than-respectable .276/.340/.396 slash line with two homers and six steals in 49 games.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
Millas has long been known more for his glove behind the plate, but he's started hitting at the Triple-A level the last two seasons, most recently sporting a .311/.361/.518 batting line with nine homers at 10 steals with Rochester in 2024. The Nationals preferred him to Riley Adames as Keibert Ruiz's backup down the stretch last season, so he could make his first Opening Day roster in 2025. Millas' batted-ball data is pretty weak, but he does have plus speed - especially for a catcher - and is on a team that loves to run. Still, it's a long shot that he'd churn out much fantasy value even if he gets an opportunity.
