2026 Fantasy Outlook
Scott was sidelined for all of 2025 after undergoing hybrid Tommy John and internal brace surgery in September of 2024. He began throwing on flat ground the following March and continued throughout the summer, including throwing off a mound and facing live hitters. Scott was reportedly sitting around 94 mph, while occasionally reaching 96 mph. Because his recovery plan includes a required cooldown period, he shut things down for a few months with the intention of ramping back up in January. While he's expected to be ready for the start of spring training, the Mets can afford to be patient given their depth of young arms. Scott is likely to begin the season at Triple-A Syracuse, with a potential call-up later in the year, as reestablishing his control and command will ultimately dictate his timeline. Settles for no-decision Sunday
Scott took a no-decision Sunday against the Marlins, allowing no runs on four hits and two walks in 5.2 innings. He struck out five.
Analysis
Scott delivered arguably his best effort of the campaign so far, turning in his first scoreless start while completing a season-best 5.2 frames. Control has perhaps been the 26-year-old right-hander's biggest impediment in 2026, as the hurler has hit at least one batter and also walked multiple hitters in four of his first five outings. Scott owns a 3.20 ERA, 1.38 WHIP and 30:14 K:BB across 25.1 innings heading into next weekend's scheduled rematch at home versus Miami.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
Scott may have improved his prospect status more than any other pitcher until his meteoric rise was curtailed by a UCL sprain in his right elbow. After first hoping to avoid surgery, Scott underwent a hybrid Tommy John and internal brace procedure in late September. He's slated to miss the entire 2025 campaign. Scott's breakout began in the second half of 2023 as he fanned 77 in 62 innings with Double-A Binghamton. He opened last season with Triple-A Syracuse, punching out 55 in 42.1 frames. He was less effective in 47.1 innings with the Mets, notching just 39 strikeouts while issuing eight homers. He'll still be just 27 years old when he takes the hill again in 2026, so he could be worth a stash in deep keeper and dynasty formats.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Nearing return to majors?
Mets manager Carlos Mendoza said Sunday that there's a "good chance" Scott rejoins the big-league rotation in advance of the All-Star break, reports Anthony DiComo of MLB.com.
Analysis
Friday's series opener against the Astros will start a stretch of 17 straight days with a game for the Mets, and Scott could work as a sixth starter to create some rest for the rotation. The 25-year-old was called up for his MLB debut in May and pitched well in five starts with a 3.90 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 25:6 K:BB across 27.2 innings. With the trade deadline looming and the Mets positioned to potentially be sellers, Scott could be up in the majors for good this time around.
