Rest-of-Season Projections
2026 Fantasy Outlook
Torres began his pro career back in 2015 and catcher was his primary position for a few years, though he bounced around to multiple spots across the diamond. Torres eventually played independent ball from 2022-2023 before the Cardinals signed him. After excelling at Double-A Springfield in 2024, Torres moved up to Triple-A Memphis in 2025 and was even better, slashing .328/.441/.464 with nine homers, 26 steals and a 70:57 BB:K. The 28-year-old played all three outfield spots with Memphis but also saw significant action at second base. Torres' superb numbers the last two years in the minors need context, as he produced them in his late 20s in great hitting environments and also benefitted from bloated BABIPs. The Cardinals were intrigued enough to add him to their 40-man roster over the offseason, but the chances are low that he'll ever get a long look in the majors. Read Past Outlooks
Fifth straight start in left field
Torres will start in left field and bat seventh in Wednesday's game against the Brewers.
Analysis
The left-handed-hitting Torres will make his fifth consecutive start in left field since being summoned from Triple-A Memphis. He's gone 5-for-15 with one home run and a 2:2 BB:K in his first four big-league contests. Torres should continue to receive regular playing time for now, though he's likely to head to the bench when Lars Nootbaar (heels) returns next week.
