The 18 starts and 28 overall appearances Hutchison made for the Tigers last season were both his highest marks in the majors since all the way back in 2015. That was also his last full season with the Blue Jays, and the 32-year-old returned to his original organization over the offseason on a minor-league deal. Hutchinson never turned into the top-flight starter it looked like he could be once upon a time, but he's been a reasonably-effective swingman the last two years and is a solid depth arm to have around. He's just not going to help in fantasy leagues.

Latest Fantasy Rumors

Likely to sign with Detroit again
Hutchison is expected to sign with the Tigers next week, reports Chris McCosky of The Detroit News.
ANALYSIS
Hutchison will likely be signing a minor-league deal with Detroit, a team he's signed with three other times since February 2021. The 31-year-old elected free agency after clearing waivers when the Tigers designated him for assignment last Sunday. The journeyman has made 12 appearances and two starts for Detroit this season and pitched in a handful of games for Triple-A Toledo. The Tigers have two off days next week but will likely need a second starter for a doubleheader July 4.
