Evan Carter Injury: Beginning assignment Friday
Carter (oblique) will begin a rehab assignment Friday, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.
A strained right oblique has kept Carter on the shelf since June 13, but he appears to be ready to test his oblique in a game setting, assuming he checks out fine after taking live BP with the Rangers on Thursday. He'll likely play his tune-up games at Triple-A Round Rock and could be back in the Rangers' lineup before the end of the month.
