Musetti would consider himself extremely unlucky after being forced to retire in the last-eight clash of the Australian Open. The 23-year-old won the first and second sets with scores of 6-4 and 6-3. In the third set, however, Musetti injured himself and eventually had to retire. While doing so, Musetti became the first player in the history of the Open era to retire from a quarterfinal of a Grand Slam after winning the first two sets.
