Cardona was an excellent addition to the Villarreal back line last season, as he started 34 matches at left-back and made a seamless transition from Las Palmas. Even with only three clean sheets last season, his attacking output is reason enough to consider him a great defensive option in the new campaign. Add in a few more clean sheets and he could rise up the rankings even more.
