2025 Fantasy Outlook
Gauld put together perhaps the single-best season of his career in 2024, scoring 15 times and adding 12 assists while leading Vancouver to the playoffs yet again. The striker is at the heart of everything going forward for the Whitecaps, with his ability to play anywhere across the front three invaluable. He's showing no signs of slowing down and with Stuart Armstrong integrating into the team, the entire Vancouver attack could be in for a bump in 2025. If Gauld can take that next step, he has the potential to be one of the best attackers in MLS, and perhaps even an MVP candidate.
Back on grass
Gauld (knee) has been spotted training individually on the pitch for several consecutive days and is targeting a return in the coming weeks, according to SaritaReports.
ANALYSIS
Gauld has been sidelined since January following arthroscopic debridement surgery on his left knee, but getting back outside and building up his sessions is a genuine step forward in his recovery. The plan is to get one more session in Thursday before assessing the next stage, with an April return increasingly realistic if everything continues to progress as planned. When he does come back, Gauld will likely ease into a rotational role behind Brian White, Thomas Muller and Rayan Elloumi rather than being thrown straight back into the starting lineup.
