Joins Austin FC through 2029
Placheta signed with Austin FC as a free agent on a deal guaranteed through the 2028-29 season with an option for 2029-30, the club announced.
ANALYSIS
Placheta spent the last six seasons in England, initially joining Norwich City in 2020 and winning promotion to the Premier League before making 12 top-flight appearances the following season. He subsequently had stints at Birmingham City and Swansea before joining Oxford United ahead of the 2024-25 season, where he contributed six goals and four assists across two campaigns. The 28-year-old Polish winger has earned seven senior caps for Poland, including an appearance at Euro 2020 and an assist in World Cup qualifying against San Marino in 2021. He will be eligible to make his MLS debut when Austin's season resumes against Seattle on July 22.
