Collins's season ended abruptly at the end of March, when he suffered a syndesmosis injury against Mainz that required surgery and ruled him out for the final games. He described the rehab as a longer process but one without any bad surprises, and confirmed in late May that he'd finished it and would return "completely fresh" after the summer break. That's exactly what's happened, he was on the pitch for Frankfurt's full pre-season restart this week, fully training and available for selection. With Rasmus Kristensen having left for FC Midtjylland, and Nathaniel Brown and Aurele Amenda also departing, Frankfurt have shelved any plan to sell Collins and are instead planning to build around him, with new coach Adi Hutter valuing his versatility to play at center-back and on both flanks, at left-back and right-back.
