Engelns has completed a move to Hoffenheim, joining from SC Paderborn, his new club announced. "Luis is a very exciting player with excellent game intelligence and a strong presence in central midfield. Despite his young age, he has already gained valuable experience in professional football. Now he can take the next step in his development here, gain important playing time in the 3rd division and get used to the level of the Bundesliga," said Paul Pajduch, Technical Director of TSG Hoffenheim.

ANALYSIS
Engelns came through all youth levels at SC Paderborn and broke into the first team at an early stage. He made his 2. Bundesliga debut in October 2024 away at Kaiserslautern and has featured 17 times in the league this season, scoring one goal, while also making two appearances in the DFB Pokal. Overall, the central midfielder has already logged 29 appearances in the 2. Bundesliga. He also has four selections with the U19 Germany national team.
