Lucas Bartlett

Bartlett was a fixture in D.C. United's defensive line in his first season with the club, however, he was only able to keep one clean sheet in 31 starts. He slightly made up for that with five goal contributions, including two across the last three matches of the season, but his lack of clean sheets hurt his campaign significantly. With starting goalkeeper Alex Bono, who conceded 55 goals across 29 starts, leaving the club in the offseason, there's a chance D.C. United will improve on the defensive end in 2025. Yet, with uncertainty surrounding Bono's replacement and the departures of Christopher McVey (26 starts at center-back) and Pedro Santos (20 starts at left-back/left-wing), there's also a chance the club's defense regresses even further. Bartlett's goal involvements gives him solid upside, but there is a lot of risk given the uncertainty surrounding D.C. United's defense.
