Vargas started the majority of contests for Charlotte in the 2024 campaign, clocking 2,627 minutes in 36 appearances, 31 of them as starts. He recorded six goals, one of them from outside the box, while also providing two assists. Of note, he struggled for every-match starts near the end of the season, something that has to be monitored through the offseason if Dean Smith wants to add new players. Vargas' production has never jumped off the page, which was evident late in the season as he produced just 14 shots from his final 14 appearances (including playoffs).
