2025 Fantasy Outlook
It was something of a lost year for Daniel in 2024, as an early-season hamstring injury required surgery and sent him to the sideline for a majority of the season. The goalkeeper was busy when fit, averaging more than four saves per match (51 in 12 starts) and conceding two goals per match. The defensive unit in San Jose was almost entirely dismantled ahead of 2025, which should be a good sign as they were one of the worst in the league. It's hard to trust a totally new defense from opening day, giving Daniel some risk for 2025. If the defense improves, Daniel has little competition for the starting job and has shown the ability to make some big saves across his first two seasons with San Jose.
Zero saves in 0-0 stalemate
Daniel registered no saves and allowed one goal in Saturday's 1-1 draw against Toronto FC.
ANALYSIS
Daniel made no saves but conceded a goal. It was the fifth consecutive league fixture where the 31-year-old failed to keep a clean sheet. Daniel's next assignment will be against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
