2025 Fantasy Outlook
Guimaraes started all 38 matches in 2024/25, showing his ability to stay healthy after start 37 the prior campaign. The Brazilian broke the 10-goal contribution (five goals, six assists) mark again with 11, though his overall attacking numbers were down slightly. He's a key piece to how Newcastle play in the midfield and his role isn't going to change, but there is a chance for less time in league play due to Champions League football next season. The other downside is that his goals and assists are fairly random with a lot of them coming from rebounds or scraps in the box.
Training individually
Guimaraes (hamstring) was shown doing individual drills with the ball in a video posted by the club Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Guimaraes is targeting a return to action in April after being inactive since Feb. 10 due to a muscular injury. As soon as he's back in full training, the midfielder should give the team a huge boost in both attacking and defensive aspects, considering that he had scored nine goals and four assists over 31 appearances in all competitions while averaging 1.9 tackles per game before getting hurt. He'll likely take a starting spot from either Joelinton or Jacob Ramsey, and he'll also challenge Kieran Trippier and Lewis Hall for corner kicks.

Hopes to return after break
Guimaraes (hamstring) will make the squad for Wednesday's Champions League second leg against Barcelona to support his teammates but will be aiming a return on the pitch after the March international break, according to coach Eddie Howe. "Bruno is back on Monday, his plan is he wants to come to Barcelona, not in a playing capacity, but to support the lads. He has been working incredibly hard on his recovery; I'd like to think by the time the international break has ended he will be back ready for us."

Howe confirms timeline
Guimaraes will miss multiple months with his hamstring injury, according to manager Eddie Howe. "I think he will be [pushing to get back sooner]. But the timeframe will be the timeframe on this one. I don't think there's any miracle cure for him. I think it will be a couple of months. You are probably looking at the end of the international break in March for him. We've spoken with him, and he spoke with our medical team, and we've been in consultation with the Brazilian national team. He's going this week with the Brazilian national team, and then comes back to us for the last four weeks."

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Likely to move to Old Trafford?
Guimaraes reportedly favors a move to Old Trafford if Michael Carrick stays as manager for the 2026/27 season, according to Football Insider.
ANALYSIS
Guimaraes is widely expected to leave Newcastle United in the summer regardless of what happens with Sandro Tonali, and the midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford. The Brazilian, who's expected to represent his country in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, would be open to joining the Red Devils if Carrick stays as manager for the next season and beyond. He remains under contract at St. James' Park, though, so any transfer would have to be negotiated with Newcastle.
