2025 Fantasy Outlook
Cubas continued to be the rock in the center of the park in Vancouver, playing 2,288 minutes in 2024 and starting 27 times. Those are in line with his totals from 2023 when he first took on a full-time starting role for the Whitecaps. Any hopes of him developing playmaking upside seem to have passed, but he is a rock-solid central midfielder and has the ability to pile on defensive contributions. In 2024, he set a bevy of career highs including 86 tackles and 25 clearances, while also committing 20 fewer fouls than he did in 2023. He will remain a solid defensive option for the Whitecaps in 2025.
On scoresheet
Cubas assisted once to go with one cross (zero accurate) and one chance created in Saturday's 3-1 victory against Colorado Rapids.
ANALYSIS
Cubas earned his name on the scoresheet with an assist for Vancouver. Since his return from injury, the midfielder has started all three games played, aking 12 tackles with nine interceptions and creating three chances from the defensive midfield.
