Victor Lindelof News: CB start ineffective against France
Lindelof logged four clearances and one tackle (zero won) during Sweden's 3-0 loss to France on Tuesday.
With the Swedes both not having Isak Hien (hamstring) available and their manager Graham Potter preferring a four-defender formation against France, Lindelof reverted to center-back Tuesday. Among the Swedish team's CB pairing, Gustaf Lagerbielke was much more active, which makes sense considering that France (through an Olise-Barcola-Mbappe trio) mostly threatened from his side. For the World Cup, Lindelof's four appearances feature as many interceptions and 13 clearances. Unfortunately for him, during his CB starts, Sweden's opponents averaged 3.0 goals per game.
