Silvan Hefti News: Transfers to D.C. United

Hefti is a new signing for D.C. United with a contract through June 2027 which includes an option to extend for the 2027/28 season following his departure from Bundesliga side Hamburger, the team announced Thursday.

Hefti has vast experience in Europe with clubs like Hamburger, Genoa and Montpellier, even though he didn't really see action in the 2025/26 campaign. He'll try to make a bigger impact in MLS, most likely serving as a right-back and aiming to be selected over Aaron Herrera and Conner Antley at some point. The Swiss defender may be somewhat reliable for crosses and a few defensive stats if given significant time on the field.
