Polyana Viana
Dama de Ferro

Brazil
Fourth straight stoppage loss
Viana lost to Alice Ardelean via submission (Capsule Lock) at 4:36 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Viana entered as a +160 underdog and looked every bit that number and then some. She was obliterated on the feet in Round 1 before being controlled on the mat throughout Round 2. She eventually tapped out at the tail end of the frame. Viana had a bunch of stoppage wins prior to her UFC arrival, but she has simply never gotten on track with the promotion. She's lost four in a row, all via stoppage, and is 4-8 in a dozen fights with the company. Set to turn 34 years old, it would be a massive upset if Viana receives another opportunity.

Losing streak hits three
Viana lost to Jaqueline Amorim via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:49 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Kansas City.
ANALYSIS
Entering as a +575 underdog, largest on the entire card, Viana put forth one of the most non-competitive performances you will ever see. She gave up an immediate takedown in Round 1 and spent the entire frame on her back. She did the same in Round 2 prior to being choked out. Viana has remained on the UFC roster despite the fact she is now sporting a 3-7 record dating back to August 2018. The Brazilian has lost three straight and is without a win dating back to November 2022. She'll be in tough to survive this latest performance.

Next bout scheduled
Viana will take on Jaqueline Amorim in a Strawweight bout at UFC Kansas City on April 26, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Viana most recently had her bout with Cory McKenna cancelled for an undisclosed reason. She'll get another chance to bounce back, however, and she needs it - Viana is coming off two straight losses and has seen her UFC record drop to 4-6. Most recently, she lost at the hands of Gillian Robertson in January of 2024. Her opponent Amorim, meanwhile, has won three straight fights.

No longer fighting McKenna
Viana is out of her fight against Cory McKenna at UFC Vegas 98 on Oct. 12, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
It's unclear why Viana backed out of the fight, but Julia Polastri will fill in for her against McKenna. Viana is 0-2 in her last two matches and it's unclear when she'll be able to fight again.
