Falls to 1-4 in past five fights
MiddleweightUFC
July 18, 2026
Cannonier lost to Christian Leroy Duncan via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 28-29) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Oklahoma City.
ANALYSIS
The UFC continues to match Cannonier up against some of the best middleweights around and it isn't going well. It's all perfectly understandable considering Cannonier turned 42 years of age in March. Jared took nearly a year off between fights and was lucky to survive 15 minutes here. He landed 5-of-8 takedowns, but was credited with just 15 significant strikes. The vast majority of his 6:12 worth of control time was holding Duncan up against the fence. Jared is getting hit more than ever and he's not wearing damage as well as he did early in his career. It's really difficult to defend a 1-4 mark in Cannonier's past five fights. The only positive to take from it is the fact all four setbacks came against high-end competition in Duncan, Michael Page, Caio Borralho, and Nassourdine Imavov. There's no easy answer here in regards to what to do next.

Cannonier will taker on Christian Leroy Duncan in a middleweight bout at UFC OKC on July 18, per Marcel Dorff of Heavy on Sports.
ANALYSIS
Cannonier is coming off a loss at the hands of Michael Page last August, a defeat that dropped his UFC record to 11-9. The two fighters are trending in the opposite direction; Cannonier has lost three of his last four bouts, while Leroy Duncan has won four straight.
Can't find offense in loss

Cannonier lost to Michael Page via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 319 on Saturday in Chicago, Illinois.
ANALYSIS
The fight wasn't quite as close as the scorecards indicate, as a slip from Page early in Round 3 led to mostly empty control time. Cannonier is generally a pressuring boxer, but he found himself unable to hit MVP, and getting stung with big shots when he entered into range. Cannonier has shown he can still hang with some of the best in the division, but at 41 years old and having lost three of his last four fights, it's worth wondering how much time "The Killa Gorilla" has left at the highest level. Cannonier falls to 18-9-0 in professional MMA as a result of the loss.
Scheduled against MVP

June 13, 2025
Cannonier is scheduled to compete against fellow middleweight Michael Page at UFC 319 in Chicago on Aug. 16, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Currently placed No. 7 in the UFC's middleweight rankings, Cannonier will look to defend his spot again against another rising prospect. Page is best known as a welterweight, but he recently moved up to middleweight and ended Shara Magomedov's hype train. Around that same time, Cannonier ended a streak of his own by overcoming Gregory Rodrigues.
Pulls upset in main event

February 15, 2025
Cannonier defeated Gregory Rodrigues via TKO (punches) at 0:21 of Round 4 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
It was a trademark performance from Cannonier as a +200 underdog, but it didn't start out well. Rodrigues got the better of the action early on, as to be expected. Jared ate some big blows, but he handled them well. Once Rodrigues gassed out early in Round 2, Cannonier was there to pick up the pieces. He kept pushing forward and firing out his jab, easily winning the second frame. Round 3 was much closer, but Cannonier dropped Rodrigues with a short elbow at the end of the stanza. He jumped on top of his opponent and began unloading everything but the kitchen sink, only to have Gregory saved by the bell. Yet, the damage proved to be irreversible, as Rodrigues was put away for good just seconds into Round 4. The win snaps a brief two-fight losing streak for Cannonier and keeps him on the outer fringes of the title conversation at middleweight. He'll also walk away with a $50,000 bonus after this bout was awarded Fight of the Night honors.
Another fight in Vegas

December 11, 2024
Cannonier is scheduled to compete against Gregory Rodrigues in a middleweight fight at UFC Vegas 102 on Feb. 15, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
The last time Cannonier fought in Las Vegas was on Aug. 24 at UFC Vegas 86, when he lost to Caio Borralho in five rounds. It is unclear if Cannonier's upcoming fight is another five-rounder, though unlikely, but he will look to snap his losing streak regardless.
