Stoppage win in UFC debut
Rodriguez defeated Kevin Borjas via TKO (punches) at 4:21 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Mexico City.
ANALYSIS
Should Rodriguez reach the lofty potential many think he has, we'll probably look back on this fight and think it was a good learning experience for him. Making his official company debut following a first-round knockout win on Dana White's Contender Series in October, Rodriguez was blitzed by Borjas early on, getting knocked down twice and nearly finished in the opening minutes. He deserves full marks for recognizing the trouble he was in, getting Borjas to the mat, and recovering in the process. Rodriguez took over for good in Round 2, eventually putting Borjas away late in the frame (and earning a $100,000 Performance of the Night bonus with it). Now 6-0 as a professional with all six wins coming via stoppage, Rodriguez is an obvious fighter to keep an eye on moving forward.

Joins UFC Mexico card
Rodriguez will fight Kevin Borjas at UFC Mexico on Feb. 28, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Rodriguez is fresh off a win over Roque Conceicao at Dana White's Contender Series in October, which helped him improve to 6-0 in professional fights, though this will be his first fight after accepting a UFC contract. Rodriguez will face off against an opponent in Borjas who has been scuffling of late, most recently losing against Su Mudaerji at UFC Fight Night 257 in August.

Lands big shot to earn contract
Rodriguez defeated Roque Conceicao via TKO (punches) at 2:12 of Round 1 at Dana White's Contender Series on Tuesday. After the show, he was one of six fighters to be officially awarded a UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Imanol is fast and powerful for a flyweight, having notched five of his six victories via KO/TKO. "Himan" showed that power early, catching a kick before landing a shot on the side of Conceicao's head. The Brazilian did his best to stay in the fight, but Rodriguez chased him down along the fence to close the show. Rodriguez entered MMA with crisp boxing, but he now trains with UFC Hall-of-Famer Daniel Cormier, which should give his wrestling a serious boost. Rodriguez moved to 6-0-0 in professional MMA as a result of the victory.
