Takes decision in UFC debut
BantamweightUFC
March 14, 2026
Sosa defeated Luan Lacerda via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 29-28) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Sosa accepted this fight a little over a month ago following the withdrawal of Rinya Nakamura. He was making his official UFC debut following a win on Dana White's Contender Series in September and looked pretty good following a slow start. The much better conditioned athlete, Sosa was able to pick up the pace as the bout progressed. He closed with a 104-62 edge in significant strikes landed, with many of them being extremely damaging. One of the better prospects to come off DWCS this past year, Sosa is worth keeping an eye on at 135 pounds.

Sosa will take on Luan Lacerda in a bantamweight bout at a UFC event in Las Vegas on March 14, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Sosa will step in on relatively short notice for his first ever UFC bout. He replaces Rinya Nakamuara, who pulled out of the fight for undisclosed reasons. Sosa, meanwhile, earned a contract with the UFC after dominating Mackson Lee in Dana White's Contender Series back in September.
Nets contract with dominant showing

Sosa defeated Mackson Lee via unanimous decision (30-27, 30-27, 30-26) at Dana White's Contender Series on Tuesday. After the show, he was one of four fighters to be officially awarded a UFC contract.
ANALYSIS
Sosa controlled this fight from the opening bell, stalking his opponent and uncorking big shots before transitioning to a wrestling attack. Unlike most fighters who come from the Contender Series, Sosa has a wealth of experience, including an amateur background that spanned a whopping 20 fights. The gradual movement seems to have paid off for Sosa, who looks incredibly composed and can stick to a game plan. He will need to draw upon everything he has learned in the UFC, as there aren't many soft landing spots at bantamweight. Sosa moved to 14-1-0 in professional MMA as a result of the victory.
