Anders' next opponent is arguably his biggest in terms of name value, a former UFC Middleweight Champion who most recently defeated Bruno Silva. Anders is coming off an impressive win of his own, a decision victory over Jamie Pickett. Not only will Anders get an opportunity to defeat a former UFC champion, but he can do it at the UFC's annual MSG event.

He returned here against an opponent in Pickett that entered having lost four straightm and Anders looked quite awful despite emerging with the win. The most notable blow of the fight went to Pickett with a Round 1 knockdown. Anders was able to get his wrestling game going consistently after recovering, landing 5-of-13 takedowns for 10:08 worth of control time, but Eryk somehow landed just 23 significant strikes despite his constant positional advantage. In short, Anders won this fight because he was facing an extremely low-level opponent, not because he accomplished anything of note. Set to turn 37 years old in April, Anders has alternated wins and losses in his last four bouts.
