First submission win of career
BantamweightUFC
November 8, 2025
Marcos defeated Miles Johns via submission (rear-naked choke) at 1:38 of Round 2 at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Fresh off the first loss of his pro career against Montel Jackson last time out in early-May, Marcos flipped the script here. Known as a brawler and power puncher with supreme durability, he leaned on his wrestling to dispatch Johns. Marcos landed 3-of-4 takedowns attempts for 3:59 worth of control time before eventually securing the first submission victory of his career. The 32-year-old Peruvian has been money since officially joining the UFC roster in January 2023. He's 5-1 (1NC) in seven fights with the company.
New fighter scheduled
BantamweightUFC
October 28, 2025
Marcos will take on Miles Johns in a bantamweight bout at UFC Vegas 111 on Nov. 8, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Marcos was initially slated to take on Felipe Lima, but the latter backed out of the fight. Now, he's matched up with another fighter who needs a replacement, as Miles Johns' opponent also backed out. Marcos is a 4-1 record in the UFC but is coming off his first career loss at the hands of Montel Jackson.
Set to face Lima
BantamweightUFC
September 5, 2025
Marcos will take on Felipe Lima in a bantamweight bout at UFC Qatar on Nov. 22, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Marcos is coming off the first pro defeat of his career after losing to Montel Jackson via unanimous decision on May 3 this year. He owns a 5-1 record at the UFC level, though, so he's in no danger of losing his contract even if he loses again here. He'll face Lima, who's also aiming to bounce back from a recent defeat.
Suffers first pro defeat
BantamweightUFC
May 3, 2025
Marcos lost to Montel Jackson via unanimous decision (27-30, 27-30, 27-30) at UFC Fight Night on Saturday in Des Moines, Iowa.
ANALYSIS
Marcos is the latest in a long string of fighters this evening to struggle with inactivity. He did a nice job of getting his grappling game going, landing three takedowns for 5:45 worth of control time, but Marcos did absolutely nothing with his positional advantage. In fact, he was credited with just 17 significant strikes over the course of the 15-minute bout. For comparison's sake, Marcos had landed no fewer than 81 significant strikes in his prior three bouts. You simply aren't going to beat quality opposition with that type of output. Marcos entered the evening with an undefeated professional record in 18 fights, including five in the UFC . His roster spot is plenty secure, but this was a disappointing effort.
Looks to stay perfect vs. Jackson
BantamweightUFC
February 28, 2025
Marcos will take on Montel Jackson in a bantamweight bout at UFC Des Moines on May 3, Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl reports.
ANALYSIS
Marcos is a perfect 4-0 in the UFC and remains undefeated as a professional after besting Adrian Yanez via split decision back in December. He has a tall task ahead of him, however, as his next opponent Jackson -- a gifted striker -- has won five straight dating back to 2020 and just win his last fight 18 seconds into the first round. This should be a highly entertaining bout between two elite Bantamweights.
