Struggles continue in Abu Dhabi
Rakic lost to Azamat Murzakanov via TKO (punches) at 3:11 of Round 1 at UFC 321 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
That's Rakic's fourth straight loss, including three via knockout, and it should all but eliminate him from any bouts with future title implications moving forward. Rakic looked strong early on, moving well and seeing everything Murzakanov was sending his way. It was at that point he got clipped with a short right jab which dropped him on the spot. A few follow-up shots proceeded, and Rakic was done for good. At 33 years old and with his durability clearly trending in the wrong direction, there's a non-zero chance Rakic could be looking at a release.

Next bout scheduled
Rakic will face Azamat Murzakanov in a light heavyweight bout at UFC 321 in Abu Dhabi on Oct. 25, per Marcel Dorff of Eurosport.nl.
ANALYSIS
Rakic is in desperate need of a win as a loser of three straight. Most recently, he fell to Magomed Ankalaev via unanimous decision back in October. After a 6-1 start in the UFC, he's now sitting at a perilous 6-4 and hasn't won a fight with the promotion since March of 2021. All things considered, this is a huge fight for Rakic.

Losing streak hits three
Rakic lost to Magomed Ankalaev via unanimous decision (28-29, 28-29, 28-29) at UFC 308 on Saturday in Abu Dhabi.
ANALYSIS
All things considered, Rakic looked reasonably effective against the guy that is widely viewed as the No. 1 contender for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship. Rakic did a nice job of landing some low kicks early on, and while he got less effective as the fight progressed, he was never truly overwhelmed by Ankalaev at any point. The fact Rakic's corner told him he was up two rounds heading into the final frame was irresponsible and didn't help matters, but it almost certainly didn't impact the final outcome. Rakic returned this past May after nearly two years on the sidelines. The UFC would be wise to give him another chance despite the fact he's lost three straight and is without a win dating back to March 2021.

Looking to bounce back vs Ankalaev
Rakic will face Magomed Ankalaev in a light heavyweight bout at UFC 308 on Oct. 26, MMAJunkie.com reports.
ANALYSIS
Rakic will do everything in his power to come out on top against Ankalaev, as he's at risk of dropping three straight fights. His last defeat came at the hands of Jiri Prochazka back in April. Rakic is looking to recapture the magic from his early UFC career, in which he won five of his first six fights. He'll have to do it against an extremely talented fighter in Ankalaev who has only lost once in his professional MMA career - and that loss came back in 2018.

Finished in return from long layoff
Rakic lost to Jiri Prochazka via TKO (strikes) at 3:17 of Round 2 at UFC 300 on Saturday in Las Vegas.
ANALYSIS
Fighting for the first time in nearly two years, Rakic looked excellent up until the finishing sequence. He made a point to damage Prochazka with leg kicks, something Jiri's previous opponent, Alex Pereira, did brilliantly. Yet, it was clear from the very start that Prochazka wasn't concerned with the power from Rakic coming back his way. As a result, he continued to push forward and eventually blitzed his opponent, leading to the finish. All in all, it was an encouraging return for Rakic given all the time away and the level of opposition he was facing. His next challenge will be to return to the win column his next time out.
