2025 Fantasy Outlook
In terms of offensive abilities, Parekh has the potential to be an elite blueliner. He had 33 goals, 107 points and 96 PIM in 61 regular-season appearances with OHL Saginaw in 2024-25. He also made his NHL debut with Calgary on April 17, logging 20:31 of ice time while recording a goal, a plus-3 rating, two PIM, two shots, one hit and one blocked shot. While that's a nice start, his short-term offensive upside is limited by the presence of defensemen MacKenzie Weegar and Rasmus Andersson, who might prevent Parekh from getting much power-play ice time even if he does make Calgary's Opening Night roster. Still, he's worth keeping a close eye on because if he does find a way to earn a regular spot with the Flames that includes a power-play role, then he could provide 30-40 points this campaign. Latest Fantasy Rumors
Might play in WJC
Assuming he's recovered from an upper-body injury, the Flames intend to loan Parekh to Team Canada for the upcoming World Junior Championship, per Eric Francis of Sportsnet on Wednesday.
ANALYSIS
Parekh hasn't played since Nov. 7 and may not be close to returning. However, Team Canada's camp doesn't start until Dec. 12, and the tournament begins Dec. 26, so there's still plenty of time for Parekh to get healthy. The 19-year-old defenseman would play an integral role for Canada if he's an option for the tournament.
