Robbie Russo

Russo was originally drafted by the Islanders as a 2011 fourth-round (95th overall) selection, but the Notre Dame opted for Detroit instead. While the defenseman posted an impressive 103 points (21 goals, 82 assists) over 204 games with AHL Grand Rapids, Russo couldn't getting anything going in the attacking zone at the top level with the Red Wings, as he failed to register a single goal or assist over a 19-game trial in 2016-17. Evidently not sold on his progress, the Wings traded Russo to the Coyotes in exchange for a 2019 seventh-round draft pick. It's fair to wonder why a team in dire need of puck-moving defensemen pawned off Russo, but one thing is for sure: he's a dice-roll in just about any fantasy format.
