Taken with the No. 109 overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft, Blake has proven to be a diamond in the rough. He recorded 17 goals and 34 points across 80 regular-season outings as a rookie in 2024-25 before finding another level with 22 goals and 53 points in 81 regular-season appearances in 2025-26. Blake’s jump offensively went hand-in-hand with an increase of 2:39 in average ice time in his second season. His points per 60 minutes also rose from 1.8 to 2.4 year-over-year, which showcases substantial real growth on offense. The 23-year-old should continue to develop and push for 60 points this season. He also tends to get into some trouble, which could result in 30-50 PIM. He does far worse in terms of hits -- just 13 last year -- so he loses some versatility in leagues that use hits over PIM. Including the playoffs, his ice time spiked toward the end of the year, as he averaged 16:40 per game from the beginning of March onward. He'll be 22 years old for all of the 2025-26 campaign, and he's poised to become a top-six regular for the Hurricanes, who saw significant upheaval last season and still remained one of the most structured teams in the league. Blake doesn't have much of a physical edge, but a push in the 20-to-25-goal range, alongside a jump to 40-plus points, puts him in position to be a valuable depth forward with breakout potential in fantasy.
