2025 Fantasy Outlook
Blake wasn't among the elites of the rookie class in 2024-25, but he carved out an average of 13:51 of ice time while racking up 17 goals and 34 points over 80 regular-season outings. Including the playoffs, his ice time spiked toward the end of the year, as he averaged 16:40 per game from the beginning of March onward. He'll be 22 years old for all of the 2025-26 campaign, and he's poised to become a top-six regular for the Hurricanes, who saw significant upheaval last season and still remained one of the most structured teams in the league. Blake doesn't have much of a physical edge, but a push in the 20-to-25-goal range, alongside a jump to 40-plus points, puts him in position to be a valuable depth forward with breakout potential in fantasy. Another big impact game
Blake scored two goals and added an assist in a 3-2 overtime win over the Flyers in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference second round Saturday. The Hurricanes advance to the Eastern Conference Finals with a 4-0 sweep.
ANALYSIS
Blake scored the winner at 5:31 of overtime. His wrist shot bounced off Dan Vladar's glove and trickled over the goal line. Blake was a scoring machine against the Flyers, putting up three goals, four assists and 10 shots. He sits second in team scoring this postseason with four goals and seven assists in eight games. This scoring outburst isn't really a surprise -- Blake's game took a massive jump this season on the team's second line, and he finished the regular season with 22 goals, 31 assists and 174 shots in 81 games. He and linemates Taylor Hall (12 points) and Logan Stankoven (eight points) lead the Canes in scoring this postseason.

2024 Fantasy Outlook
Blake is an intriguing prospect who was a Hobey Baker Award finalist last season after scoring 22 goals and 38 assists in 40 NCAA appearances with the University of North Dakota. The 21-year-old looks to be a steal by the Hurricanes after they selected him in the fourth round - 109th overall - in 2021. He got a taste of the NHL in the regular-season finale for the Hurricanes but was a minus-2 with nary a point in a 6-3 loss to Columbus. Blake should start the season in the minors to gain some professional experience, but do not be surprised if he is a mid-season call-up should he excel at the AHL level.
