2026 Fantasy Outlook
Hagel's two-way dominance for Tampa Bay continued into 2025-26, with the 27-year-old winger producing 36 goals and 38 assists across 71 regular-season games. He posted a plus-34 rating, ripped 214 shots and added five goals and seven assists on the power play. The 58 PIM, 42 hits and 38 blocked shots round out a multi-category profile that travels well across scoring systems. Hagel doesn't lean on special teams for his production, which makes his even-strength impact especially valuable in fantasy. Project another 30-goal, 75-plus-point campaign with strong peripherals in 2026-27. Hagel is an early-round target with the potential for a higher ceiling if his power-play output improves. Two goals in comeback win
Hagel scored twice on three shots, added two PIM and logged two hits in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Canadiens in Game 4.
ANALYSIS
Hagel continues to be the hero for the Lightning with six goals and a helper over four games to open the playoffs. He had the tying goal on a power play at 1:40 of the third period and followed that up with the eventual game-winner with 4:53 left in regulation. In addition to his offense, Hagel has nine shots on net, five hits, 13 PIM and a plus-6 rating. He'll look to keep the offense rolling as the series shifts back to Tampa for Game 5 on Wednesday.

2021
Hagel was on an upswing when signing an eight-year, $52 million contract in August of 2023, having just come off of a career-high 64-point campaign, but since then, he recorded 74 points (26 goals) in 2023-24 followed by 90 points (35 markers) in 2024-25. He’s not dependent on his linemates -- he was mixed and matched throughout last season -- nor does he lean on the power play for his production. He ranked fifth in the league in even-strength points with 72, and his shorthanded point production (seven) nearly matched his points with the man advantage (11). More power-play production would be a plus, but the lack of it also shows that he can find ways to make an impact even if exposed to less-than-ideal circumstances. For that reason, it seems fair to believe another 80-plus point campaign is in the cards.

Latest Fantasy Rumors
Not playing in upcoming tournament
Hagel has chosen not to join Team Canada for the upcoming 2026 IIHF World Championship, Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com reports Tuesday.
ANALYSIS
Hagel had a superb regular season in 2025-26, posting 36 goals, 74 points, 214 shots and a plus-34 rating over 71 outings. The left-shot winger also had six goals and two assists across seven games in Tampa Bay's first-round series loss to Montreal, but he was quiet in the last three contests of the postseason, registering just one assist. Hagel's decision to rest instead of play for Canada at the upcoming international tournament could bolster his outlook in fantasy for the 2026-27 campaign since he'll have plenty of time off.
