Thompson will guard the visiting cage in New Jersey on Thursday, Stephen Whyno of the Associated Press reports.
Thompson will make his ninth straight start after posting a 5-1-2 mark with a 2.58 GAA and a .914 save percentage in his previous eight outings. Overall, the 29-year-old is 27-20-6 with a 2.46 GAA and a .912 save percentage in 53 appearances this season. The Devils are generating 2.72 goals per game, which ranks 27th in the league.
