2026 Fantasy Outlook
With a major win under his belt and over $10 million in earnings, the sky was the limit for Clark in 2023. Another strong 2024 campaign and suddenly, Clark was considered one of the best golfers in the world. One year later and it's unclear what to expect from Clark going forward. Clark did not resemble the guy that won three events at all this past season, and it's tough to say if he'll ever be that guy again. Clark's ascention was unexpected in 2023, as he didn't show a lot in his first two seasons on the PGA Tour, so the question is, was this some rare two-year run or will he find his game again in 2026? At his current price, there isn't a lot of risk with Clark, and considering his upside, he's probably worth a salary cap spot this season. He didn't play well in 2025 and still managed a top 60 spot on the money list, so if he resembles that major winner, even for only a few weeks this season, he'll have been worth the price. Wins THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson
May 24, 2026
Clark posted a 30-under cumulative score at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson at TPC Craig Ranch to win the tournament by three strokes over Si Woo Kim and Scottie Scheffler.
ANALYSIS
Clark was 19-under through the first three rounds and entered the final round two strokes back of Kim for the clubhouse lead. It was a birdie-fest at TPC Craig Ranch, and Clark demonstrated that in spades in the final round with a bogey-free, 11-under 60 score in which he went seven-under on the back nine with four birdies over the final five holes. It was a spectacular performance out of Clark, who led the field in SG: Putting (including feet of putts made and putts per GIR) while ranking second in both birdies and bogeys, sixth in SG: Off-the-Tee, T7 in GIR, 11th in SG: Approach and T14 in driving distance. It's the fourth PGA victory of Clark's career and first since the 2024 AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. He's currently listed in the field for next week's Charles Schwab Challenge, where he missed the cut in his last outing in 2022.

While it wasn't the career year of 2023 that put Clark's name on the map and included a Signature Event win and a U.S. Open, 2024 was a more than respectable campaign for the former Oregon standout. He did earn another Signature Event victory at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am early in the season, and followed that up with several other close calls in big events, including a runner-up at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and THE PLAYERS Championship. That being said, Clark's performance in the majors left a lot to be desried notching results of MC-MC-T56-MC. A big part of improving that will come down to his iron play. Clark ranked 96th in SG: Approach in 2024 compared to 29th in 2023. Overall, Clark is a big-hitter who fills it up on the greens. He's not going anywhere anytime soon.
We could see the talent for years with Clark, but he just struggled to put it all together. That all changed last season when he scored two wins, one at the signature event at Quail Hollow and the other at the U.S. Open. Clark finished the season third in the FedExCup after a strong showing at East Lake, one of eight top-10s on the year. He also only missed three cuts in 28 starts, which speaks to his big improvements with the irons to go with that power and putting prowess. While the 29-year-old has everything you are looking for from a top-tier PGA Tour player, we need to see him back it up in 2024 before we can project him among the upper echelon players.
Though he had finished with more FedEx points in his rookie season, Clark's fourth and most recent season on the PGA Tour was his best. Clark set a career high in money earned and cuts made (22/29). Clark is starting to show more consistency after missing double digit cuts in each of the last two seasons. The Oregon product ranked fourth in driving distance last season, but only 56th in SG: Off-the-Tee and 173rd in SG: Approach. That tells me he needs to reign things in a bit to put himself in better positions to attack pins. Clark has been a great putter throughout his career, so there's a lot of tools to work with here if he can harness his ability.
Clark missed at least 12 cuts for the second straight year. He was buoyed by his runner-up at the Bermuda Championship and a T8 at the Genesis Invitational. He did not close the season especially well missing the cut in his last seven starts. Clark has been very poor approaching the green ever since he came on tour, which is really what has been holding him back. He is very long off the tee and solid around the green and with the putter.
Clark has shown to be an excellent putter in his young career, but his ball striking has really struggled. Last season he ranked 20th in SG: Putting, but 193rd in SG: Tee-to-green. It's really the reason he went just 10-for-23 in made cuts last season. Until he shows more consistent ball striking, Clark will be hard to trust in all formats.
Clark appeared in three PGA Tour events during the 2017-18 season, notably finishing 17th at the Sanderson Farms Championship before missing cuts at the OHL Classic and Waste Management Phoenix Open. On the Web.com Tour in 2018, he collected to top-three finishes and four top-10s, but missed 11 cuts in 23 starts. Clark struggled with his accuracy off the tee, but made up for it with distance as he ultimately finished top-30 in birdie average.
