2026 Fantasy Outlook
Detry joined the PGA Tour full-time in 2023, and he took very little time to get acclimated. He landed in the top 50 at year's end and hasn't left in the two years that followed. Detry hasn't shown a lot of consistency in his PGA Tour career, but he has shown some nice upside. Though he managed just two top-10s this past season, his numbers looked good because he picked-up his first win at the WM Phoenix Open. Detry isn't super consistent and he's not a grinder (he's played just 24 and 22 events the past two seasons) so it really depends on him finding his best game a couple times a year. That's not exactly a recipe for success when you're looking for golfers that have high upsides. As such, he's not a great salary cap option as he'll likely land somewhere near where he ended up this past year. Read Past Outlooks
Share of third in South Africa
March 22, 2026
Detry posted a six-under 65 in the final round of LIV Golf South Africa to finish tied with Branden Grace and Abraham Ancer for third.
ANALYSIS
Detry scored four-under par or better in each of his four rounds in South Africa and surged over the weekend, going 14-under over the final two days. He led the field with 28 birdies made, finished T10 in putts per hole and driving accuracy and T11 in GIR. Detry has finished in the top-3 in two of the last three LIV Golf tournaments and has four top-15 finishes on the year, which has him fifth in the individual season standings. The next LIV Golf event takes place April 16 at Club de Golf Chapultepec in Mexico.

2023
There was plenty of buzz surrounding Detry as he made his PGA Tour debut in 2023, and and while there weren't any big splashes, there was a high level of consistency throughout his rookie season. Detry made the cut in 23/29 starts as a rookie, which is very impressive considering he spent his entire career up to that point in Europe. While he could only parlay those made cuts into three top-10s, he did post 11 top-25s on his way to just under $2.5 million in earnings. This past year his cuts-made percentage dropped a bit, but his overall production was higher with four top-10s and over $3.6 million in earnings. Detry seems to be hitting his stride in the states, and at just 32 years-old, he should be entering his prime. As such, Detry has plenty of value in salary cap leagues this season.
After playing on the DP World Tour for seven seasons, Detry gained his Tour card through the Korn Ferry Tour finals and got off to an excellent start with four top-15 finishes in his first five starts. Things cooled off from there, however, as he only recorded two other top-15s. Detry features above average length (43rd in driving distance) while also being a solid putter, but is average at best in the other facets of the game. That's likely good enough to maintain his card for another year, but he'll need to improve his iron play in order to contend on a more consistent basis.
Detry's T4 at the Albertsons Boise Open was good enough to earn the Belgian his first PGA Tour card, but his 2021-22 campaign also included four top-25 finishes in just five starts at the PGA Tour level. He also tied for 34th at the Open Championship, ultimately averaging an impressive $82K in official earnings per event throughout those five appearances. The 29-year-old was a standout at the University of Illinois during his college days, winning Big Ten Freshman of the Year in 2013 and Big Ten Golfer of the Year in 2015.
