2026 Fantasy Outlook
There's a strong case to be made that Theegala was the biggest disappointment in 2025. He went from making nearly $8.5 million in 2024 to completely losing his game in 2025 and making only about $1 million. He was 16th on Tour in 2024 in SG: Total and gained strokes across the board. In 2025 he was outside the top 150 in SG: Total and lost strokes across the board. Theegala battled a neck injury that caused him to miss some time in the middle of the season, but he hadn't really done much to that point anyways. It's hard to project Theegala because there's not just one or two things he needs to focus on in the offseason. He needs to improve all areas of his game if he wants to get anywhere close to where he was to start his career on the PGA Tour. Theegala is still just 28-years-old and it's hard not to believe his talent will eventually win out and overcome this miserable stretch of golf. That said, golf is a fickle game and young players have lost their game's after strong starts to their career's before, but sometimes it takes years to find it again. Read Past Outlooks
Strong second round in Phoenix
February 8, 2026
Theegala finished tied for 18th at the WM Phoenix Open with a nine-under cumulative score.
ANALYSIS
Theegala managed to make the cut with a six-under 65 second round that included two eagles, which played a big part in him cracking the top-20 of the leaderboard despite scoring 70 in each of the other three rounds. He struggled mightily off the tee, but Theegala finished sixth in the field in SG: Around the Green and in the top-20 in SG: Putting and SG: Approach to Green. He has made the cut in all his four PGA Tour events this season, finishing in the top-20 in each of his last three outings. Theegala is in the field for next week's AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am as a sponsor exemption.

2023
2022
Theegala had his best season in 2024 racking up 11 top-12 finishes and making the Presidents Cup team for the first time. A big key to his success was tightening things up with the driver. He ranked 134th in SG: Off-the-Tee and 172nd in driving accuracy in 2023, but in 2024 he was all the way up to 27th in SG: Off-the-Tee and 119th in driving accuracy. Combine that with a great putting stroke and soft hands around the green, and it makes sense why he piled up the results like he did this past year. All that said, Theegala has always been a volatile player and you're going to have to live with some inconsistent results from time to time, but it's rare to find a player with his kind of firepower. That could certainly lead him back to the winner's circle in 2025.
Theegala had a stretch of nine events during the summer where he failed to record a top-25 finish, but he closed the year with top-20s in four of his last five starts, including his first PGA Tour win at the Fortinet Championship. Theegala's biggest weakness is that he is pretty wild off the tee, which then leads to a ranking outside the top-150 in GIR percentage. The good news is that he was top-25 in both SG: Around-the-Green and SG: Putting last season. That being said, Theegala needs to find more consistency with the ball-striking if he is going to find himself in contention at some of the bigger events in 2024. He is certainly an exciting player to watch, but it seems unlikely that he reaches $7 million again next season.
Theegala had a very impressive rookie season that was able to captivate fans through his strong play. If not for a bad break at the 71st hole at the Phoenix Open or the 72nd hole of the Travelers Championship, Theegala could easily have two wins. His consistency was also of note, as the 24-year-old made 16 of his last 17 cuts in individual events. Theegala can go low with the best of them, as he led the PGA Tour with 433 total birdies last season. He really does have all the tools, but a key to finding more success in the future might be eliminating his big misses. Theegala can get it out there, but was only 91st in SG: Off-the-Tee because he was 173rd in driving accuracy.
Theegala rebounded from a missed cut in the Korn Ferry Tour Finals opener by finishing T4-6 at the Nationwide Children's Hospital Championship and the KFT Championship, securing his status as a rookie on the PGA Tour in 2021-22. He's already made 13 career starts at the PGA level, however, highlighted by a T14 at the 2020 Safeway Open. The 23-year-old came to prominence as an amateur during his time at Pepperdine University, where he was the unanimous National Player of the Year in 2020.
