2026 Fantasy Outlook
Fowler has seen a lot of peaks and valleys in his 15 years on the PGA Tour. Seven wins, four times inside the top-10 at year's and and tens of millions in earnings. That's the good. The bad is a somewhat recent stretch that saw him land outside the top 125 in consecutive seasons. He's since rebounded from that stretch but it continues to be a wild ride. In Fowler's comeback season, he topped $6 million in earnings and ended the season inside the top 10, but the following season he was back outside the top 100. Predictably, he rebounded from that down season and nearly cracked the top 30. If you believe in trends, he'd be due for a down year again, but he's running out of peak years at this point, so a renewed focus is just as likely. Even with that however, his number is set fairly high for this season, so he's not a great salary cap option this season. Read Past Outlooks
Cracks top-15 with strong weekend
Fowler posted a 14-under cumulative score at the John Deere Classic to finish tied for 15th.
ANALYSIS
Fowler opened the tournament with scores of 70-69, which was just enough for him to make the three-under cut line. He followed that up with an eight-under 63 on Saturday -- the best score of the third round -- and led the field that day in feet of putts made. He finished the tournament 10th in bogeys, 15th in SG: Off-the-Tee, GIR and scrambling and 21st in SG: Around. It was an encouraging performance from Fowler, who finished T60 or worse in four of the five tournaments prior to the John Deere Classic, including T60 at the PGA Championship and an MC at the U.S. Open. He's not in the field for the Genesis Scottish Open, nor the ISCO Championship, so his next outing will be in two weeks at The Open. He finished T14 in last year's Open Championship and T22 in 2017, the last time that golf's oldest major was hosted at Royal Birkdale.

After seemingly refinding his form to pick up his first win in over four years in 2023, Fowler was unable to maintain anywhere near the same level in 2024 with just one top-10 and five top-25s, three of which came against weaker competition in the fall. His ball striking was the main reason he took a stepbackwards as he lost over 10 yards off the tee compared to the year prior and went from seventh in SG: Approach all the way down to 122nd. The bright side is that his best result of the year came in his most recent start at the ZOZO Championship in October. The ceiling is higher than a lot of players but it's difficult to know which version of Fowler we will see in 2025.
