Coody notched a pair of top-10s and six top-25s across 17 events played on the PGA Tour in 2025, but he earned his card for the 2026 season via the Korn Ferry Tour Points List, posting a pair of runner-up results and seven top-10s at the KFT level this past year. Coody closed with a four-under 67 on Sunday at The Genesis Invitational to finish 10-under and tied for 16th.

Coody gained strokes across the board in his Riviera Country Club debut, notably ranking top-10 among the Signature Event field in driving distance, scrambling and putting percentage from inside 10 feet as well. The T16 result is Coody's fifth top-20 finish through his first six starts of the 2026 season, ascending from 96th to 45th in the Official World Golf Ranking since the turn of the calendar year.

Expectations were high for Coody after a two-win season on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2023. It was largely disappointing apart from a T5 at Colonial and a T2 at the ISCO Championship, however. Coody does two things well, hits the ball far and can hole putts with the best of them. If he is going to take the next step, however, he is going to have to do better on approach and in the short game department. Coody ranked outside the top-150 in both SG: Approach and SG: Around-the-Green in 2024. There's certainly still upside here, but Coody is probably a couple years away.
