2026 Fantasy Outlook
Coody notched a pair of top-10s and six top-25s across 17 events played on the PGA Tour in 2025, but he earned his card for the 2026 season via the Korn Ferry Tour Points List, posting a pair of runner-up results and seven top-10s at the KFT level this past year. The former Texas Longhorn actually paced the PGA Tour in SG: Off-the-Tee while also ranking top 5 in GIR percentage and birdie average, but Coody was just 130th in SG: Putting. Read Past Outlooks
MC at Genesis Scottish Open
July 10, 2026
Coody recorded a three-over cumulative score through the first two rounds of the Genesis Scottish Open to miss the cut by five strokes.
ANALYSIS
Coody opened the second round with two birdies over the first four holes and needed to go one-under the rest of the way to qualify for the weekend, but those hopes were dashed by four bogeys from holes five to nine. He ranked 153rd out of the 156-man field in SG: Putting on Friday, losing 4.28 strokes. That outdid the strong work he did on the tee box, ranking third in driving distance in sixth in SG: Off-the-Tee in the second round. Coody had three top-15 finishes over his first four tournaments of 2026 but has failed to record another top-15 finish since. He'll tee off next week in what will be his debut at The Open Championship.

Past Fantasy Outlooks
2025
2024
Expectations were high for Coody after a two-win season on the Korn Ferry Tour in 2023. It was largely disappointing apart from a T5 at Colonial and a T2 at the ISCO Championship, however. Coody does two things well, hits the ball far and can hole putts with the best of them. If he is going to take the next step, however, he is going to have to do better on approach and in the short game department. Coody ranked outside the top-150 in both SG: Approach and SG: Around-the-Green in 2024. There's certainly still upside here, but Coody is probably a couple years away.
A decorated amateur career preceded the former University of Texas standout's smooth transition to professional golf in 2022, given he's already won thrice through his first 33 Korn Ferry Tour starts. Two of his KFT victories came this past season in 2023, landing atop the podium at both The Panama Championship and the Price Cutter Charity Championship on the way to a final standing of sixth in the points list. Despite cooling off throughout the latter stages of the season with his 2024 PGA Tour card essentially locked up, Coody still finished fourth on the KFT in total driving and sixth in holes per eagle. The nine-percent win rate obviously won't follow him to the next level, but Coody is definitely one of the more intriguing young prospects among this year's class of graduates.
