2026 Fantasy Outlook
Rahm came into the 2025 season having won the LIV Golf Individual Championship during his debut year in 2024, finishing in the top 10 in every tournament he finished while winning two of the last three events of the season. He was Mr. Consistency once again in 2025, and despite not winning a single LIV Golf tournament, he was able to outlast Joaquin Niemann to win the Individual Championship for a second consecutive season while also leading his Legion XIII squad to the Team Championship. Rahm had solid outings in the major championships -- including top-10 finishes at the PGA Championship and the U.S. Open Championship -- but those kinds of performances don’t mean much when it comes to the four biggest tournaments in golf, though he did play a key role in Team Europe’s Ryder Cup victory over the Americans. Rahm will enter the 2026 season looking to three-peat as LIV Golf champion while adding a third major championship to his trophy cabinet. Read Past Outlooks
Could return to PGA Tour
Rahm is eligible to return to the PGA Tour for the 2026 season via the Returning Member Program, which was announced by PGA Tour CEO Brian Rolapp on Monday.
ANALYSIS
Rahm qualifies for the elite program because he has won a major championship from 2022-25 (2023 Masters). The new program was put in place after Brooks Koepka decided to leave LIV Golf and apply for reinstatement from the PGA Tour. Koepka is exercising his option to return, but it's unclear if Rahm will do the same. Rahm initially left for LIV Golf in 2024 because he was frustrated with PGA Tour leadership, but with Rolapp now calling the shots that may change his mind. Rahm will have until Feb. 2, which is the first week of LIV Golf, to make his decision on whether or not to leave LIV and return to the PGA Tour. Rolapp indicated that this could potentially be a one-time offer. Rahm would have a five-year forfeiture of any potential equity in the PGA Tour's Player Equity Program, but he also received a hefty sum in his initial contract with LIV Golf. Rahm has slipped to 87th in the OWGR and has not been as competitive in the major championships since joining LIV.

Once one of LIV Golf’s biggest critics, Rahm rocked the golfing world in December of 2023 when he opted to defect from the PGA Tour to the breakoff league. Other than the initial list of signees for the inaugural 2022 season, Rahm has arguably been the largest name to sign with LIV Golf, which was reflected in his captaincy of the newly minted Legion XIII team composed of Tyrrell Hatton, Caleb Surratt and Kieran Vincent. Rahm was the only golfer in the LIV Golf league to finish in the top-10 in every single tournament he finished (he was forced to withdraw from Houston due to an infection in his left foot), and his victories at LIV Golf UK and Chicago propelled him past Torque GC captain Joaquin Niemann for the LIV Golf Individual Championship. Rahm finished first in GIR and in the top-10 in birdies per round, scrambling, putting average and driving distance. His major performances left much to be desired, however, as he finished T45 in his defense of the Masters before missing the cut at the PGA Championship and withdrawing from the U.S. Open Championship. Rahm did manage to finish T7 at The Open, and he was agonizingly close to winning the gold medal at the Paris Olympics before blowing a four-shot lead on the back nine of the final round to finish T5. Rahm will be in the field for all four major championships in 2025.
