2026 Fantasy Outlook
Li has spent time all over the world playing on a variety of different tours, but now will finally get a shot of a full season on the PGA Tour in 2026. He earned status given his play on the DP World Tour last season that included eight top-10 finishes. Most of his damage was done early in the season, but he did have a standout performance at The Open where he finished T4. Given Li is a global player and one of the hardest workers in golf, he should be able to adapt to the grind of the PGA Tour. Last season he ranked 18th in SG: Off-the-Tee and fourth in SG: Approach. That type of ball striking will certainly play on the PGA Tour. Read Past Outlooks
MC after Friday 75 in Scotland
Li carded a five-over 75 in the second round of the Genesis Scottish Open to miss the cut by five strokes.
ANALYSIS
Li opened the tournament with a two-under 68, and he was right on the two-under cut line heading into the back nine of the second round. However, he proceeded to go five-over over his last four holes, including double bogeys on both the sixth and eighth holes. Li ranked dead last in SG: Around on Friday, losing 5.90 strokes in that category, while connecting on only six of 13 fairways (46.2 percent) and seven of 18 greens in regulation (38.9 percent). He's missed the cut in 11 of 18 tournaments this season and hasn't finished in the top-25 since his T11 at the Farmers Insurance Open in early February. That said, The Open Championship next week provides Li with an opportunity to turn his 2026 season around. He finished T4 last year at Royal Portrush, and he also finished solo third in 2017 at Royal Birkdale, which is the venue for this year's Open Championship.
