2026 Fantasy Outlook
van Rooyen had a mostly uneventful season with 13 missed cuts and just three top-25s across 25 starts, but he made the most of the weeks that he was in good form with a pair of runner-ups. That was enough to keep him in the top 100 to retain his Tour card for a seventh straight season. He has decent length off the tee, but he lost strokes around the green and putting while being bottom-half in approach. The 35-year-old didn't show much form this fall either, as he appears to be trending downward heading into 2026. Read Past Outlooks
Career-best SG: ARG at THE CJ CUP
van Rooyen carded a one-under 70 on Sunday at THE CJ CUP Byron Nelson to finish 15-under and tied for 19th.
ANALYSIS
van Rooyen gained a career-high 4.93 strokes around the greens at TPC Craig Ranch, converting 18 of 21 scrambling opportunities in the process. However, he ranked just 54th of 70 among the field in SG: Ballstriking. Nonetheless, van Rooyen has now made the cut in five consecutive starts dating back to a T48 at the Texas Children's Houston Open, and he'll be in the field again this week at the Charles Schwab Challenge where he tied for 36th last year.

2020
Van Rooyen has a reputation as a big time hit-or-miss player, but he's found a bit more consistency in recent years. In addition to the consistency, he's kept that upside as he showed late in 2023 when he won the World Wide Technology Championship. He carried that momentum into 2024 as he posted a runner-up in late February at The Classic in The Palm Beaches. After that, he didn't play his best, but he still managed to match his 2023 numbers. Van Rooyen is a tough guy to figure out as he often plays well after bad stretches, and although his consistency has improved over the years, it's tough to see an upside much higher than what he's produced the past couple seasons.
