2026 Fantasy Outlook
Grillo had a breakout season in 2023 when he picked up his second PGA Tour win and over $5 million in earnings. He finished that season 14th on the FedEx Cup list, but that's the only time he's landed in the top 30 in 10 full seasons on the PGA Tour. Grillo is a solid player with generally a couple runs in him each season, but his past two seasons have been lacking those high-end finishes, and that has resulted in significantly reduced earnings. Grillo's number is pretty low for salary cap purposes, but outside of 2023, he hasn't really shown much upside. As such, he's not a great salary cap option this season. Read Past Outlooks
Strong final round at Valspar
Grillo posted a six-under 65 in the final round of the Valspar Championship to finish with a seven-under cumulative score for a four-way tie of seventh.
ANALYSIS
Grillo was one-under through the first three rounds, but the 33-year-old Argentinian put it all together with a strong performance Sunday, which included three consecutive birdies from holes seven to nine. He finished the tournament T8 in birdies, ninth in SG: Off-the-Tee, T16 in GIR and T20 in SG: Approach. It was a much-needed performance from Grillo, who entered the Valspar Championship having finished T38 or worse in each of his first six PGA Tour tournaments of the season (including three missed cuts). He's in the field for the Texas Children's Houston Open, where he finished T47 in 2025, MC in 2020 and T3 in 2018.

Grillo has spent the majority of his career hanging right around the top-70 with the exception of two seasons where he somehow cracked the top-15 at season's end. 2023 was one of those seasons where he landed in the top-15, but he failed to build upon that success in 2024. While his salary cap number is lower because of this, there are some injury concerns heading into 2025. Grillo was slated to play several tournaments in October, but managed to finish just one. The injury was not disclosed, but it did cause him to miss 2-3 events in October. This undisclosed injury may have led to his lack of success throughout the 2024 season, which would normally lead to a positive recommendation as a salary cap play for the upcoming season, but with little information on his injury and if he'll be healthy to start the year, it's impossible to recommend him in salary cap leagues this season.
