The Reshuffle List: Looking Ahead to the Sixth Reshuffle

Only one reshuffle is left -- following the John Deere Classic -- followed by a sprint to the regular-season finish for the members of the PGA Tour's Reshuffle List as the regular season ends in just over a month at the Wyndham Championship. So with that in mind, and at the midway point of the last reshuffle period, here's where things stand:

Berger is 29th in FedEx Cup points, sitting pretty to make it very far in the FedEx Cup Playoffs if he keeps up this kind of golf. Don't be surprised if he notches up his first victory at some point in the next couple months. Same goes for Thomas.

We were high on this season's PGA Tour rookie class at the start and we were correct. Entering this reshuffle period, four of the top five, and five of the top ten players on the Reshuffle List were rookies.

From this group only Collins has seen an increase in his points and a nice bump at that from (just over 25), via his T39 finish in Hartford last week. He's probably 60 or so points away from having a secure feeling about a card.

Owen and Reifers, the two men closest to clinching a card, both did not qualify for the U.S. Open and both missed the cut at the Travelers Championship. But their overall fate is still the same -- one quality finish and they'll be headed back to the PGA Tour for the 2015-2016 season.

Down At the Bottom

Mark Anderson (+9 spots if the reshuffle happened today) - Anderson, who has been in the 200s in the FedEx Cup standings for most of the 2014-15 while playing off a medical exemption, tied for 15th at the Travelers, bringing him up to 197th place. This is significant because players 126-200 on the FedEx Cup points list get into the Web.com Tour Finals, with the top-25 money earners over those four events that don't already have a PGA Tour card for next season getting one. His starts may be sparse while playing off the medical (and while at the bottom of the Reshuffle List), but clearly his form is starting to come around and potentially at just the right time.

Bud Cauley meanwhile, who tore his labrum last fall and has missed the entire season until now (and thus has no FedEx Cup points), has returned to golf on the Web.com Tour, missing the cut at both the Rust-Oleum Championship and the Air Capital Classic presented by Aetna with zero rounds in the 60s thus far. Look for him to take a major medical exemption on the PGA Tour and use any remaining Web.com Tour starts he gets as kind of a "rehab" period before next season.
