The Reshuffle List: Fallout From the Second Reshuffle

This article is part of our The Reshuffle List series.

James Hahn's playoff victory at the Northern Trust Open completed the PGA Tour's West Coast Swing and also completed the second reshuffle of the 2014-15 season. Here's how everything stacks up:

Top Five

1. Tony Finau -- 403.600 FedEx Cup points
2. Justin Thomas -- 360.027
3. Andres Gonzales -- 340.870
4. Colt Knost -- 322.000
5. Daniel Berger -- 303.400

Bottom Five (non-medical)

45. Zack Sucher -- 0.940 FedEx Cup points
46. Tyrone Van Aswegen -- 0.930
47. Patrick Cantlay -- 0.880
48. Bud Cauley -- 0.000
49. Richard Sterne -- 0.000

Note:
Last year, it took 438 FedEx Cup points to clinch your PGA Tour card for the 2014-15 PGA Tour season. At more than 403 points, Finau is basically one solid finish away from knowing he'll have a card for the 2015-16 season.

Biggest Gainers

Steve Wheatcroft, +26 spots - Wheatcroft's 26-spot jump to 12th on the list is by virtue of his tie for second at the Humana Challenge. He followed that up with a T64 finish in San Diego and a T51 at Pebble Beach. At just above 225 FedEx Cup points he's halfway to getting his card for 2015-16 locked up. Wheatcroft is streaky, however, and at 153rd in strokes gained-total and with no stats that jump out at you, fantasy owners may not want to jump to put him in play so quickly.

Alex Prugh, +25 spots -
Prugh got his bump from two solid finishes, a T5 at the Farmers Insurance Open

Biggest Gainers

Steve Wheatcroft, +26 spots - Wheatcroft's 26-spot jump to 12th on the list is by virtue of his tie for second at the Humana Challenge. He followed that up with a T64 finish in San Diego and a T51 at Pebble Beach. At just above 225 FedEx Cup points he's halfway to getting his card for 2015-16 locked up. Wheatcroft is streaky, however, and at 153rd in strokes gained-total and with no stats that jump out at you, fantasy owners may not want to jump to put him in play so quickly.

Alex Prugh, +25 spots -
Prugh got his bump from two solid finishes, a T5 at the Farmers Insurance Open and a T10 at Pebble Beach. All told, he finished in the money in four of his five starts in this reshuffle period, and at ninth on the list, should see additional starts in the southern swing. He's sixth in greens in regulation on the PGA Tour.

Sung Joon Park, +19 spots -
Park got a nice bump from nearly winning the Humana Challenge -- he wound up tying for second -- and backed that up with a T30 in Phoenix the following week. Park missed his next two cuts, however, stopping any further positive momentum during the second reshuffle period. All told, however, he's now eighth on the Reshuffle List, more than halfway to clinching his card for next season and is looking at even more playing opportunities as spring nears.

J.J. Henry, +14 spots -
Henry, the veteran who has experienced the grind of a PGA Tour season for many years now, got his 14-spot bump to 19th on the Reshuffle List by virtue of finishing in the money in every start during the period: T30-T48-T11-T45. Always consistent, he ranks 12th in greens in regulation and 22nd in ball striking this season.

Daniel Berger, +14 spots -
Berger also nearly won an event -- he was in contention for most of the Waste Management Open before tying for 10th -- starting a three-week run that was followed by a T24 in San Diego and a T10 at Pebble Beach. He sits fifth on the Reshuffle List, has crested the 300-point mark on the FedEx Cup points list and has impressed with his play, ranking 10th in driving distance and 37th in strokes gained-total. Fantasy owners looking for a sleeper should look at Berger.

Biggest Losers

Fabian Gomez, -13 spots - Gomez missed two cuts and had no finish better than T30 during the second reshuffle period, dropping 13 spots to 17th. All told, this probably had more to do with solid rises from guys like Wheatcroft, Prugh and Berger more than poor play from Gomez. Nonetheless, after a fall that contained two top-15 finishes, this was a dropoff in form. Statistically he's 22nd in driving accuracy and 56th in strokes gained-total. His trouble spot? Greens in regulation where he ranks 79th.

Byron Smith, -12 spots -
Smith missed the cut in all four events he entered during the reshuffle period, shooting only three rounds in the 60s and dropping to 38th on the list. With only 52 FedEx Cup points and limited playing opportunities for spring, Smith will have to take advantage of every opportunity he gets. The biggest culprit is, well, everything, as he ranks no better than 78th in any key statistical category and is 179th in strokes gained-total, averaging a loss of about 1.5 strokes to the field per round.

Andrew Putnam, -11 spots -
Putnam dropped to 22nd place on the Reshuffle List after only cashing in one of his five starts -- a T49 at last week's Northern Trust Open -- during the second reshuffle period. He shot only two rounds in the 60s during the missed cut streak -- and only has three overall for 2015 -- and has only a 34th-place rank in strokes gained-putting in his favor on the statistical side of things. A 22nd-place ranking on the Reshuffle List will give you places to play for now, but as the Tour looks past Augusta, it might get harder to play for Putnam if he doesn't get his game back in order soon.

Heath Slocum, -10 spots -
In four starts in 2015 Slocum has only made one cut, a T69 at the Humana Challenge. He's fallen to 35th on the Reshuffle List and is dangerously close to getting few, if any, starts during the southern swing. At 139th in greens in regulation and 163rd in strokes gained-putting, it's a bad situation that's led to only three rounds in the 60s in 2015.

Oscar Fraustro, -10 spots -
Fraustro fell 10 spots after missing all four cuts in starts he made during the second reshuffle period. At 28th on the list, he only has two in-the-money finishes for the entire 2014-15 PGA Tour season -- one a T9 -- and is struggling with his complete game, ranking no better than 83rd in any key statistical category. He enters the southern swing 193rd in strokes gained-total.

Also: Tom Gillis, -10 spots

The Nothing Men Update

Bud Cauley, out with shoulder surgery, and Richard Sterne, who has missed the cut in all six events he's played this season, have earned no FedEx Cup points.
